Now on its third edition, CLUJ PRIDE is the first event of its kind in Transylvania. It aims to provide visibility for the LGBTQ community in Cluj, to encourage the participation of LGBTQ people in community activities, and to contribute to the national dialogue on topics affecting us and our families. We bring to the table a local splash of colour and a light and optimistic attitude, all through a series of activities covering a vast array of needs – from LGBTQ themed presentations and movie screenings, to interactive exhibitions and community picnics.

The festival’s activities will take place between 10 and 16 of June 2019.
🏳️🌈 The Cluj Pride 2019 march will take place on Saturday, June the 15th, at 5 p.m. – we start marching together from Piața Unirii (Unirii Square) for equal rights, respect and safety; in solidarity with others; confident, strong, visible. We are here.
🏳️🌈 “We are here” could very well be the name of our visibility campaign for the Cluj Pride Festival, but “we are here” is first and foremost a reality. One that we live together, day in and day out, even though there are still many who do not accept it yet.
🏳️🌈 We are here to demand equal rights for the LGBT community in Romania. People who don’t know us ask why we are taking to the streets of Cluj. Like anyone else in Cluj, we also have the right to public gatherings. Unlike others in Cluj however, we are not safe in the public space. We are here today because the harassment of gay people has to stop!
🏳️🌈 We are here to tell those who need to hear it that Romania is the place where our families and our friends live. When people ask us to leave the country, we wonder: would you like to leave your loved ones? I want to stay with them.
🏳️🌈 We are doctors, teachers, students, lawyers, supermarket cashiers, volunteers, electricians, athletes, actors or engineers. We are here.
🏳️🌈 We are here because we want you to know us as we really are, and not how others portray us. Because no matter how much hate is directed at the LGBT community in Romania, we know that Romanians will get fed up with fake news and incitement against all those who are different. When you love, you can not be wrong.
🏳️🌈 We are here because we do not want others to decide how LGBT people should live their family life.
🏳️🌈 We are here to provide visibility for the LGBT community in Romania. No stereotypes and no hate. We’re here for you.
